The shoot

What a listing shoot includes

Inside, outside and overhead on one appointment. Take the full set, or name the pieces the listing needs and the quote follows what you ask for.

01

Interior photography

Handheld wide-angle stills of every room, shot and edited to show the space as it actually reads — light, flow and proportion rather than a fisheye distortion of a bedroom.

Room by room
02

Exterior stills

Front elevation, the approach, the yard and any outbuildings — the ground-level frames a listing opens with, shot on the same visit as the inside.

Ground level
03

Aerial stills and video

The lot and the surroundings from altitude, plus edited video cut to the length and aspect ratio your listing platform wants. Flown under an FAA Part 107 certificate.

From above
04

Floor plans

A clean 2D plan of the layout, so a buyer scrolling the listing can see how the rooms connect before they decide whether to book a showing.

Layout at a glance
05

Twilight exteriors

The dusk frame with the windows lit and the sky still holding colour. It is the shot that stops the scroll, and it only exists in about a twenty-minute window.

The aerial half

Who is flying it

Most listing packages have drone frames in them now. The difference sits upstream of the camera — in who planned the flight, and whether the airspace was sorted before anyone pulled into the driveway.

Flown by an airline transport pilot

Dragonfly Drones came out of private aviation. The person shooting your listing holds an FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate, an airline transport pilot certificate and a flight instructor certificate, and flies turbine aircraft for a living.

Flights get planned and briefed the way crewed operations are, because that is already the habit.

Austin airspace, handled beforehand

A large part of the metro sits under Austin-Bergstrom’s airspace shelf. Where a property falls inside it, FAA authorization is filed through LAANC ahead of the shoot rather than discovered on the day.

It is routine planning here, not a reason a listing date moves.

What the aerial frames are for

On acreage and land, the aerial is the only frame that shows the boundary and what adjoins it. On a suburban listing it is usually one or two frames that place the house on its street — not twenty.

You are quoted for what the property needs rather than a fixed drone package. More about the operation

Four kinds of property work

Same shoot, different emphasis

What changes between these is where the time goes — how much of it is spent inside, how much in the air, and what you get back.

01

Residential listings

The complete set for agents and homeowners — interior stills, aerial exteriors, floor plan and a twilight frame if the listing warrants one. Shot together so the whole gallery looks like one job.

Agents & brokers
02

Land, acreage and ranch

Boundary context, access roads, water, treelines and topography across large parcels. Where a buyer needs measurements rather than impressions, the same flight produces a measurable orthomosaic site map.

Land & ranch
03

New-build communities

Marketing media for builders and developers — the community as it stands, amenity areas, phase layout and how the streets connect. Repeat captures on an interval turn the same flight into a dated build record.

Developers & builders
04

Commercial and multifamily

Office, retail, industrial and apartment communities. Leasing and marketing imagery that shows the site, the parking, the access and the surrounding trade area in one frame.

What comes back

Files you can put straight into a listing

Edited stills — interior and aerial — delivered as a download link, typically within two business days of a standard shoot. Video and floor plans take longer because the work does.

Cut to the aspect ratio you actually need: horizontal for the MLS and the property site, vertical for social and paid. Say which platforms you are posting to and the crops come back ready.

On land and larger parcels the same flight can also produce a measurable orthomosaic map or a 360° tour, so a buyer who cannot get to the property still understands it. Mapping and 3D deliverables

Before you book

Common questions

Is the interior photography included, or is that a separate vendor?

Included. Interior stills, ground-level exteriors, a 2D floor plan and a twilight frame are all part of the same appointment, shot and edited by the same person as the aerial. Tell us which pieces the listing needs when you send the address and the quote reflects that.

Can I book only the interiors, or only the drone?

Either. Plenty of agents already have interior coverage they are happy with and just want the aerial, and some listings only need the inside. Tell us which pieces you want when you send the address and the quote reflects that.

How much does real estate photography cost in Austin?

It is quoted per property rather than off a rate card, because the inputs genuinely differ: the size of the property, how much you need delivered, time on site and where it is. Send the address and what you want shot and you get a fixed number back the same day — not a range, and not after a discovery call.

How quickly do I get the photos?

Edited stills from a standard shoot are typically back within two business days. Video depends on the length and the edit. If you are shooting to a listing date, say so when you request the quote and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable rather than finding out late.

Do you need permission to fly over a listing?

We need authorization from the property owner to operate over the property — that is the one thing we need from you. Where the property sits in controlled airspace, FAA authorization is obtained through LAANC before the flight. A large part of the Austin metro sits under Austin-Bergstrom’s airspace shelf, so this is routine planning on our side rather than something that delays a shoot.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Every pilot holds an FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate, and we carry insurance starting at a one million dollar policy. A certificate of insurance naming your brokerage or the property owner as additional insured can be issued with the quote.

Do you shoot outside Austin?

We cover Central Texas directly — Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, San Marcos, New Braunfels and San Antonio. Beyond that we work with a network of vetted Part 107 pilots who can shoot anywhere in the United States, with capture specifications set by us so a portfolio of listings in several states comes back consistent.

What makes one drone operator different from another?

Part 107 is the legal minimum, so every operator you compare has one. Dragonfly Drones came out of private aviation and is run by an airline transport pilot and certificated flight instructor, so flights are planned and briefed the way crewed operations are.
